Define, "progress."

Well... It's ridiculous how long it's been since I posted last. Since then we got our second Semen Analysis back - it was worse news. The count is now down to only 300,000 (remember, normal is 20,000,000 or more), and less than half of them have any motivation to get off their butts and DO something. Clearly, we have issues. We also had our urologist appointment yesterday. During the exam the doctor noted a very minor vericocele: an abnormal enlargement of a vein between a male's scrotum and testicle. He's ordered an ultrasound of the area around and including the vein just to see exactly how much the vein is impacted. However the doctor doesn't think the vericocele is bad enough to be causing the kind of problems we're experiencing. So... ultrasound, then blood tests: FSH, testosterone and estrogen. FSH is the hormone secreted by the pituitary glad that increases testosterone and therefore produces sperm. If FSH and testosterone levels are no-good, well... I think you can see where this is going. So... ultrasound is next Tuesday and blood tests as soon as we can get to the lab.

In the meantime I get to continue to try to remember to take my freakin' BBT every morning. For a "non-morning" person, this is like asking me to perform open-heart surgery. This morning's reading was five-tenths of a degree higher (on day 15 this should indicate ovulation), but an LH test was negative. Ah the joys. Will temp and test again tomorrow. If I do not, in fact, ovulate we will stop further evaluation and testing completely and pursue adoption. Which, as I imagine, I will narrate to you as well in a blog - but hopefully with a much more uplifting title!

I thank you all for continuing to read, and pray.
